The HD20 operates at a native 1080p resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels), while it also is compatible with most computer formats, such as UXGA, WXGA, SXGA+, SXGA, XGA, SVGA, VGA resized, VESA, PC and Macintosh It can also accept common global video inputs and video formats up to 1080p (HDTV, EDTV, SDTV, NTSC, PAL, SECAM). Like all Optoma projectors, the DLP engine operates without filters, keeping ownership and maintenance costs low while ensuring consistent performance throughout the projector’s life. I purchased this projector to replace a standard def one that failed after 5 years of use. I hung the projector and I'm projecting the image onto a 115" flat white wall. Images are simply amazing!!!! Lines are super crisp, colors literally pop off the screen with 0 bleedover and the brightness is amazing even during the day with high ambient light. Projector out of the box is calibrated to the "middle of the road" and is fairly good for both HD and SD and is sufficient for the casual watcher. If you want pitch-perfect color, especially using HD, I strongly recommend using a calibration disk. I used AVSHD [...] Great tutorial included on the disk as well as complete arrays of test patterns from 3 different sources. very minor adjustments to the projector and I was done. Once calibrated, I watched several movies that I've watched repeatedly over the years and I sat there swearing I had never seen this movie before. The visuals are just that good. I've had it for a little over 2 weeks and put jsut over 100 hours on it and for the price this projector simply can't be beat! Cud-o's Optoma! If you want a superior HD projector and are on a budget, this is the one to get.

I think most of individuals posting comments here speech that paramount projectors area unit junk unit those who haven't used a dominant projector or haven't seen it operative. I preponderating smart-905 from space|a neighborhood} bourgeois in my space and I’m really happy with it. I watch blue ray movies with it and so the images unit unceasingly sharp. I even have set the screen to 90” and so the images seem to fill my space. I even have seen someone speech that variety of the buttons don’t work. Well, that is contrary to my experience; all the buttons unit operative totally. i want to mention that I’m really happy with my purchase.
